Since 2014, the Office of Student Life Career Closet has been working to provide students with free professional clothing and accessories to aid in their success for career employment experiences. From the year-round collection of donations from Ohio State University Alumni and other business professionals, Career Closet services 700+ students annually. The program’s goal is to set students up for success by providing them with a professional outfit for their next career fair, interview, internship, or career employment.
How do I place an order? All orders are completed via this website. To shop our store, click the "shop now" headline on the menu to see what is available.
Where are the items from? All items are donated by generous faculty, staff, and community members. Items are gently used (along with many new items with tags attached) and in great condition. We thoroughly sort the clothing to ensure it is of great quality.
What is the cost for items? All items are FREE to Ohio State Students. We just ask that you use your OSU.# email address when signing up and present your BUCK ID at pick up.
What if I’m a graduate student? You’re still a student! Any student is welcome at the Career Closet.
Can I select any item that I want? YES! We are a no-judgement zone and encourage you to select the items that you will feel most confident in.
When can I pick up my items? For each order, you will receive a confirmation email with the status of your order and a pick up time. At checkout you can also schedule a specific pick up time.
Can someone else pick up my order? We will allow another student to pick up your items, but you must email slgradpad@osu.edu with your name, your BUCKID #, and name of the individual who has permission to pick up your items.
Can I return my items if they don't fit or I change my mind? All items are final sale. We ask that you gift them to a friend or donate the items!
The Office of Student Life Career Closet is housed at the George Wells Knight House. We are not open for in person shopping. We are only accepting visitors for curbside donations and pick up of orders.
